WIP Wednesday ~ Dora Quilt

Dora Quilt ~ Quilt Top finished, and quilt is sandwiched and ready to go. Now I just need to buy a walking foot and I can quilt then bind. I am really happy with how it has turned out so far. I was planning on adding a few butterflys to the border but decided against it, being a quilt used for school I thought the less applique the better.

BOM Nanna's Farm ~ With the time left over last night I made a start on Block 1 of this quilt. Have sewn the background together but there is alot of applique to do so this is going to be a very long term project. I am going to try my hand at needleturn applique on this one also. My teacher said she will show me what to do.

Quilting classes last night were again great. I dont think I mentioned it earlier but the quilt wadding came from one of the lovely ladies at quilt classes. She had completed her quilt last week and had this left over and gave it to me to use for the Dora Quilt. I thought I might make her a makeup case (like the ones I made at Christmas) as a small thankyou gift. I also have little of the fabrics and wadding left over that will eventually become two very basic doll quilts for some young neices I have.

Things to buy over the next few weeks ~ Co-ordinating fabric for AJ's mystery quilt, Freezer paper for applique, Walking foot, Fabrics for DS's log cabin quilt (this will be my main project).
Ahhh, the budget is going to hurt!
